Summer camps for 2020
Your Jr Chemist will create surprising concoctions, break molecules with ease & shake up a flask full of fun. They'll use the tools, safety procedures & laboratory techniques of real chemists as they investigate solids, liquids and gases at the atomic level. Craft chemical combinations to create super-sticky-stuff & discover properties of light.
Exploring the elements has never been so much fun!
Join us on a journey of discovery. Each day campers are given fun challenges which they overcome using basic materials, simple machines, tips from famous inventors and most important of all… Their mind!
Follow in the footsteps of da Vinci, Edison and the Wright Bros. Construct catapults & forts, fabricate innovative flying machines, and design your own gizmo prototypes.
From the earliest flying machines to the first rocket flights, campers discover the wonders of flight with exciting hands-on activities. Our test pilots experiment with aerodynamics as they build and test a variety of paper aircraft, investigate Newton's laws of motion to explain how things move & how rockets fly, & we’ll journey into the amazing Milky Way as we explore our galactic neighborhood.Click to Register
We’ll decipher the world around us in this exciting camp designed just for young scientist!
Campers will develop their earth awareness, explore the science of farts (oops, digestion), and head into space as junior astronauts. Campers will also explore why their big toe is important and how to find their center of gravity when they investigate the science of sports.
Secret Agent Lab

Super Science Sampler
Mad Science comes in all shapes and sizes and this hands-on expedition will examine a few.
Become an engineer and build bridges, domes, cubes, and pyramids. Assemble and control pulleys, levers, catapults, and simple machines. Use chemistry to make your own sidewalk chalk and bath bombs. Behold birds and beasts as we discover the animal kingdom!
All About Our Summer Camps!
Best for kids aged 6 through 12
Combination of online science with experiments and demonstrations, followed by at-home activities.
Most items for a project can be found at home. But don't worry, we'll supply less common or items specific to the at-home activity.
We've packaged those special items needed for each day and will deliver the items the week before camp!
Well-trained and dynamic instructors
Each day explores a different aspect of the weekly theme
Here's what parents have to say about our camps!
Both of our boys did Mad Science summer camps when they were younger, and loved the experience! It was a very fun and interactive experience for them. And counselor Beth Morrell is the best!!!
My son attended the Earth, Space & Beyond Mad Science Camp last summer and absolutely loved it! The hours were convenient for our family, and the location was close by for us. We're sending him again to a Mad Science camp this upcoming summer. These are well run camps, in our experience, and I recommend them for people looking for a fun, science-based camp experience.
Silver Spring, MD
My son participated in a true "camp" with horses, swimming, fishing and hiking and he was MORE excited about this camp than anything else he's done all summer. Great job on your end!
Can I sign my child up for more than one camp?
Yes, in fact, we encourage it. Each program is completely different, so your child can enjoy them all without repeating activities!+
Who are the Mad Science camp instructors?
Mad Science instructors tend to be college students pursing an education or science degree, former/retired teachers, or teachers on summer break. All of our instructors have experience working with large groups of elementary-aged children and have undergone an extensive background check.+
What is the child to instructor ratio?
The child to instructor ratio varies depending on enrollment. We always have at least one instructor for every 12-15 students.+
